UPDATE - as per our update Tiberius sadly passed away but there is a shortfall with the cover of the vet fees. We have adjusted the total down to show the final true cost. Thank you to all the donors so far.
Tiberius is the baby of our family but he had been feeling a little under the weather. At first I thought he was just being his usual fussy self - refusing his food until he got the "better stuff". However after a day of this it became obvious he was tired and lethargic as well.
A visit to the vet told us there was a major issue and he had to go in for a scan.
By the next day we had a scan showing a mass in his abdomen and we were told that he had Lymphoma.
In order to help him stay better and be with us he requires some treatment. We have insurance for the cat but it caps out at £1000 per year and this initial period will be expensive.
Injections for his new treatment cost £200 each time and the scan and subsequent initial injections have used a lot of the initial funds. During his first month of treatment he requires 4 injections and then it will settle back to a more manageable 1 a month.
Tiberius was a rescue cat and has become my constant companion. He really means the world in our family and myself especially. When I get home from work he comes running when he hears my car and gets so excited when he sees me. He always comes for morning cuddles the second I am out of the shower.
I would hate to not give him a chance, especially when the vets have spoken optimistically about the size and placement of his cancer.
