THUD is a graduation exhibition showcasing the work of 51 BA (Hons) Photography students from Arts University Bournemouth. THUD will be held within the Free Range series of exhibitions at The Old Truman Brewery, Brick Lane, London from July 6th-10th 2017. The private view will be held on Thursday 6th July.
The BA (Hons) Photography course at Arts University Bournemouth promotes contemporary and experimental work in the medium of photography and has an international reputation, producing important photographers such as fashion photographer Nick Knight and Turner Prize winner Wolfgang Tillmans.
The Brick Lane area is a prestigious and creative location, home to artists, musicians and graphic designers, making it a hub of the artistic community in the East End of London. Close to the financial district, these two areas will form part of our target audience, as well as providing a contemporary presentation of Bournemouth’s emerging creative practitioners for the public. We are expecting to receive 100,000 visitors over the duration of the exhibition during fine art week.
THUD is an integral part of the Major Project unit within our degree course. It provides us with professional networking opportunities with current artistic practitioners, in addition to a the transferable skills required for future career aspirations.
We are raising all of the funds for this exhibition, and while the cost of such a logistically complex event is considerable, the standard to wish we intend to achieve for the show is equally high, estimating the budget at £20,000. Although we have already raised a small amount, we have a way to go in achieving our goal.
In return for your support, we invite you to join us at THUD private view on Thursday 6th July at The Old Truman Brewery, London.The show will be open to the public between 7th -10th July 2017.
