Thrillerfest Fundraiser for Black Author Pitches

THRILLERFEST FUNDRAISER FOR
FOR ASPIRING BLACK AUTHOR PITCHES
 
Dear writers, publishing professionals, and readers -
 
We are looking to raise $1,000 to cover the cost of pitches at Thrillerfest for aspiring black authors in the crime genre and all of its subgenres. With Thrillerfest being a virtual conference this year without the prohibitive cost of travel and accommodations, this is the perfect opportunity to give a chance for talented black writers to pitch their works to editors and agents. In the wake of the events of the past few weeks, it is imperative that we try to raise voices that have not been heard, or not been given a chance to succeed. International Thriller Writers has graciously offered to match our goal. Each pitch costs $50. If we raise $2,000, that means we will grant 40 pitches for aspiring black authors in the crime genre. We have a long way to go, but this will offer a foot in the door to new and deserving talent with fresh stories to share. 

The funds will be given to International Thriller Writers organization to fund both pitch sessions for Black authors, as well as to finance as Black authors to take part in other ITW events such as CraftFest and MasterClass sessions as well as Consults with attending agents and editors.
 
I'll kick it off by donating $250, and I'm hoping we can zoom past $1,000 pretty quickly. Join us. Let’s give a chance for some new voices to be heard in the genre we all love.
