SB Children’s Hospital - by the Three Village Dads

In an effort to grow the relationships and bonds of group members, the Three Village Dads will be holding their first ever Family BBQ on May 18th. However we wouldn't be satisfied with just a few handshakes, cold brews and mind blowing stories about how green our lawns are. We are also raising money for a great cause that stands right in our own backyard, the Stony Brook Children's Hospital. We have selected the Child Life Program at the hospital to be the direct recipient of our funds raised. Your donation will go directly to this programs budget and not to the bottom line of the Stony Brook University account. On May 8th, 11 members of the Three Village Dads group toured the new hospital building to see first hand where our funds would be utilized. One point was made clear, children who are patients there will directly benefit from this donation.
The Child Life Program was created to help reduce the stress that pediatric patients and their families may experience when faced with illness, medical procedures and unfamiliar surroundings. The program offers an opportunity for children to engage in everyday childhood activities to help minimize anxiety by providing therapeutic, educational and recreational activities to meet the unique needs of children during their hospital stays. Therapy dog visits, educational tutors, hands on technology, horticulture projects, arts and crafts, as well as many other great activities are provided specifically by this program. As our group has grown much larger over the last couple of years, we have started to focus our attention to causes in our local area that could benefit from our collective efforts. When utilizing our close connections within the community we have found that we can be quite effective at getting results when we "rally the troops". We have already had success with event gatherings at local businesses, blood drives, fundraisers for local families who have experienced a recent tragedy, CPR courses, crime and community awareness issues, local beautification and safety improvements, VFW fundraising, local parades, school PTA, local sports, the list goes on and on. So please join us in raising money for this great cause. No donation amount is too little and in fact I would take ten thousand $1 donations over one $10,000 donation any day, so please share this link and get the word out! The Three Village Dads (Facebook group) is currently comprised of 895 fathers, sons, brothers, grandfathers, uncles, etc in the Three Village Central School District in Suffolk County New York. From firefighters, police officers and doctors to school teachers, contractors and business owners, our group is made up of representatives from every major pillar of our community. What once started out as a simple online space for a handful of guys to ask for local contractor recommendations, comment about a sports team, share a story about a recent restaurant experience, or even laugh at a bland Dad joke, the group has quickly grown into something much much larger and meaningful.
My my name is David Tracy and I am the admin of the group responsible for this fundraiser. I reside in Stony Brook NY. I will be ending the campaign May 27th by withdrawing the funds in my name. Then the hospital will set up a donation presentation where I will deliver the funds in the form of a check to the hospital directly. Any questions please feel free to ask.
