Hello All! There is a good chance that you know of the Thomson Family already - they’re that cool.
Meredith Thomson is battling stage 4 colon cancer. She has been on this journey since November of 2018. Aside rom all the lows, and all the victories she has had since then, she is currently back in the hospital for an extended amount of time.
Several parts of Meredith’s large intestine have blockages from the outside pressing in - due to scar tissue and adhesions - making it very difficult to process food. And now she has been diagnosed with a C. Diff infection as well. You can imagine the pain and uncomfortableness of all this. That means no eating! And, thanks to COVID-19, that also means no visitors. She has been approved for a intensive surgery and chemo session, called Debulking and HIPEC, however has to wait until June 5 due to interactions with the chemotherapy drugs that she was previously on. Once she has this surgery, she will have to remain off food, and hospitalized for another 7 days if everything goes well.
Meredith and her husband, Nehemiah, have two beautiful daughters; Teagan, 10, & Jade, 3. And it’s summer time. Nehemiah works full-time as a partner in a busy construction firm. They are in need of a caretaker for their children and home - until Meredith is well enough to do it again. This will give the girls a sense of normalcy and routine. Family and friends have been amazing helping out in the mean time, but some continuity and a respite for their friends is just what the doctor ordered. We are starting this GoFundMe so that they may have the ability to hire a nanny to come to their home and help with the responsibilities until Meredith is healthy and recovered enough to pick up where she left off - hopefully by August.
