THOMAS NEEDS YOUR HELP

Donation protected
Thomas and his family need our help!
Thomas Brandt has been recently diagnosed with a rare pediatric cancer: Embryonal Rhabdomyosarcoma.  Since his diagnosis last month Thomas has undergone numerous tests, scans, and several surgeries.  He is being treated at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in NYC, and will begin Chemotherapy at the hospital on March 14th.   Chemotherapy will continue for approximately 22 weeks, and he will begin Radiation Therapy in about 11 weeks.

Thomas is a sophomore at Hunterdon Central Regional High School.  He is a good student and standout member of the school ice hockey varsity team.  Thomas shares his passion for hockey with his twin brother, Andrew.  Thomas’ older sister Isabel lives at home and is currently attending RVCC, and is planning to transfer to Rutgers in the Fall where she will work toward her goal of attending Veterinary School.  Thomas’ siblings and his mother Meridith all share a love for animals and share their home with several beloved pets.

Meridith currently works a full-time job as well as several part-time jobs.

As you can imagine, she won’t be able to work her normal hours while taking Thomas for treatment in New York and caring for him at home.  Her income will decline considerably, while the family’s expenses will increase dramatically.

This is how you can help!  If we all contribute a little bit, we can help ease the financial burden and stress and allow the family to concentrate on helping Thomas to get well.

Costs directly related to Thomas’ condition include:

Lost wages
Insurance Deductible
Hotel in NYC for treatment days
Tolls and Gas to NYC
Parking Garage in NYC
Cleaning Service for the Home (cleanliness is critical due to the chemo)

In addition, the family will continue to be responsible for their regular monthly household expenses including mortgage, utilities, auto loans and insurance.  A Meal Train site has been set up to help with meals.

In order to see the family through the next several months, we are hoping to raise $15,000 by May 31st.
Any amount will be appreciated, and every little bit will help! Donations can be anonymous.   Together we can help relieve the financial strain, and allow the family to concentrate on caring for Thomas.

Lastly, we ask for your prayers for Thomas and his family as he begins his difficult journey back to health.
