Dr. Thomas Birch was a loving and doting husband, father and grandfather. He was a beloved teacher, mentor, coach, friend and colleague. He was kind and good- he was a great human!
Tom was an educator for decades in Houston, South Korea, Turkey, Bahrain, the Azores and Spain before he was promoted as the Assistant Principal at SHAPE American High School. He believed that hard work and persistence outweigh talent and he encouraged his students to be diligent and rise to their potential.
Tom was also generous and was always one of the first to act when it comes to recognizing student achievement. This fund raiser is for the Thomas Birch Memorial Scholarship. All money that will be raised will be given to a deserving graduating student at Rota MHS where Tom taught for 12 years. This memorial fund is being raised by the Overseas Federal Teachers Organization where Tom served as Executive Committee in the Mediterranean.
