I am Lazar Jelić and I am truly honoured and delighted to share with you that I got admitted to the Masters in Analytics and Management programme at London Business School. I have been admitted to my dream school due to countless hours of hard work and dedication to my career and life goals, but it is only your support that can help me shape my future.
What are my career goals?
Following the completion of the Masters in Analytics and Management programme, I hope to land a position in the field of asset management using my knowledge of data analytics to perform strategic portfolio management.
I aspire to gain the knowledge to discover and frame consequential patterns hidden in data sets to propose data-driven business decisions, yet my motivation is also inspired by a deeper vision. The challenges my generation faces are profound and without precedent: predicted disruption to labour markets caused by advances in technology, climate change, biological threats like the Corona pandemic, and the need to transition to a sustainable development model.
My desire to work in the financial services industry is driven by the idea that finance is a meta field and fuel for changes in the world. My ultimate goal is to become a better leader by integrating data in business and solving crucial problems in the world by directing resources to their best use.
The London Business School community, together with courses and extracurricular opportunities, will provide the theoretical and practical knowledge for my desired professional goals. What support do I need?
The total cost of attendance for the one-year Masters in Analytics and Management programme at London Business School is as follows:
Tuition fee: 36,600 GBP (50,218 USD)
Living costs: 12,006 GBP (16,473 USD)
Through personal savings, family funds, a 10000 GBP bursary award, and a student loan, I will be able to cover only the tuition fee, but I need help raising funds for living costs in London for 9 months. If this campaign succeeds in grabbing your attention and consideration to donate, I will enrol at the Masters in Analytics and Management programme on 31st of August 2021 at London Business School. My family will assist me with paying for visa, National Health Service and plane tickets.
Why do I need your support?
Because neither I nor my family has the means to finance either the full tuition fee or living expenses to complete my dream programme, I am starting this campaign.
As a citizen of Serbia, I lack access to student loans, which is an option available to students from member states of the European Union. Therefore, this campaign, apart from high-interest student loans, represents the only viable option to fund my educational goal.
I am the only person in my family who will study abroad and even though my expenses will be much higher, I would avoid asking my parents for significant financial aid because I am aware of the financial needs of my parents and two sisters.
Why may you consider helping me?
Coming from a middle-class family and having spent my youth in a small town in Serbia, I am a financially conscious person, who can live frugally and direct resources to their best use. During my first year of university, I could be found either studying or working on multiple projects to pay my living expenses. Because my parents helped me pay the tuition for the first year, I was studying hard to get scholarships that will cover tuition fees for the next three years. Since then, I have received every merit-based scholarship available to students.
I believe this campaign is worth your consideration because I have a demonstrated record of academic and professional achievements and have consistently invested effort to advance my personal growth, getting me closer to my vision of carving a career path through which I could make an important and effective contribution to society.
