Dominica Medical Mission Trip

This November I completed my degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner and I can think of no better way to start my career then by using my education to serve others excellently, with aloha and for Jesus. Maranatha Volunteers International has organized a mission project to Dominica to assist in the aftermath of  Hurricane Maria. Dominica was directly hit by the category 5 hurricane and much of the devastating effects on homes, schools, churches and medical facilities still remain. Most of the island infrastructure was destroyed and months later, they remain without power. 

Our group will also assist with multiple medical needs that could range from vaccinations, wound care, dental care, and health screenings. In addition, members of the team will work on rebuilding storm-ravaged churches.

Matthew 25 says “for I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in. I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you cared for me.” This is the perfect opportunity to put Matthew 25 into action.

Here's where I need your help.

First of all, I’m asking for you to pray for me – that my gifts and medical training will be a blessing to the people of Dominica. If you are like me you didn't even know Dominica exists. People there are suffering, not much help has come. Something must be done. Your prayers over Dominica can help change this situation.

Secondly, I’m asking for your financial support. By May 1st, I am responsible for raising $2,400.00 to pay for my flight and my portion that will go towards the cost of rebuilding a church. Any donation would be greatly appreciated. Any and every little bit counts.
