Mike & Adrienna Lost Their Home

My sister, Adrienna, and her husband, Mike, live on Chokoloskee Island in Florida. It's a small island on the west coast of South Florida that doesn't get the attention from the news media that the larger cities have been receiving, but these small towns were ravaged by Irma, in some cases worse than the bigger cities.

Many people are facing straining obstacles, total losses, rebuilds, decisions, clean ups & outs, on top of the daunting task of starting over on your lifetimes work and investments.

That's exactly where Adrienna and Mike found themselves on the morning of 09/11/17. They have lost everything due to the storm surge on the backside of the storm. Their house completely flooded and is a total loss. They will have to do a tear down and rebuild.

Currently there is no electricty on the island and it could be weeks before it's restored. They are going to lose wages and have to survive from day to day while they repair and replace. They are going encounter a slew of expenses while beginning this process. I’ve seen firsthand how catastrophic and devastating this is when our dad, A.E., lost everything in Hurricane Irene in 2011. It takes a toll, mentally and physically. It's hard being all the way in Texas and not being able to offer a physical hand in the process but I feel this would benefit them just as much or more than my sweat.

I’m humbly ask if you could donate any amount to help in their recovery efforts. Even if it's only $5, it will be stretched to aid in the relief and the ongoing expenses they will incur while out of work, day to day living, and to beging the rebuild process. All funds will go directly to Adrienna & Mike.
