Sabrina oswin-Roberts our beautiful cardiac baby

Sabrina was born with multiple congenital heart defects such as pulmonary stenosis and tetralogy of fallot which means Sabrina’s valve from her heart to her lungs was way too tight and she had a very large hole from her left bottom chamber to her right bottom chamber which meant her red and blue blood was mixing. Over time with constant monitoring from the cardiac specialist nurse we found that Sabrina had developed an overly thickened wall as well as an over riding aorta which where the reasons that her surgery was pulled forward. So at 7 months old on the 8/8/23 Sabrina Oswin- Roberts went in for her first surgery. In surgery they took out over 30% of her muscle in the left chamber where it was overly thick. As well as placing 2 patches on the hole and and saving her valve. Her aorta is now in the correct place aswell as her heart now sounds beautiful and working so much better. The children’s heart surgery foundation gave us so much help financially emotionally and physically. They gave us accommodation for us to stay with her at Leeds general infirmary they helped with food, fuel for the car to get too and from the hospital when needed. They was there for us to talk to when it got scary. They helped us so much as a family I just want to show them some appreciation and give a little back to them
