Get Around the Wall of Sound

Around The Sound is an online media presence bringing you the best of contemporary music from Western Australia, nationally and internationally.

Created and led by award winning music journalist and stalwart of the WA music industry, Bob Gordon, and seed funded by Andrew Thompson, we bring you excellence in music journalism and unique insights into music-makers, both iconic and newly-minted.

We also contribute to the health and vitality of the music industry.  Led and staffed by a collective of music industry professionals, we exist to promote everything that is enticing about music from your backyard to around the world.  By lifting the lid on the diverse music scenes happening right now and shedding light on that buzz we aim to do our part in getting more people seeing and buying music in Australia.

We have a strong focus on local produce and one of our main aims is to further focus the world’s attention on the force that is WA music.

Around The Sound also creates direct employment in the music industry, providing opportunities for journalists, photographers, social media experts, marketers, graphic artists and web developers.

We want to pay our contributors a decent living wage, so we're asking for help from music lovers and music industry professionals to help get our venture started, until we become self sustaining.

We are an organisation with a social conscience.  We pledge to donate 5% of The Wall of Sound's ongoing net income to the Australian Road Crew Association, supporting the people who are the backbone of the music industry both here and worldwide.
