Hello. My name is Gary McGuire. I, along with my wife, Chrystal, started The Son Rocks Ministries ™ (TSRM ™) in 2011. When I was 13, I wanted to go to church camp and at that time it was $140.00 but my family of 6 could not afford it. I always told myself that one day I would have a camp that would never turn a child away because of their financial situation. Now, with the Lord's help, my vision has become a reality.
With the added support of God-filled volunteers, The Son Rocks! has not turned away any child just because their family could not afford to pay for them to go to camp. We believe that we can make camp possible for every single child who wants to come.
Aside from activities and learning how to walk with Jesus, a summer camping experience at The Son Rocks! also fosters the learned ability of building new relationships. Camp can also help build your child’s confidence because at camp, our counselors know how to help each and every child realize their individual worth and potential to God. It isn’t always about who runs the fastest, makes the most baskets or has the biggest personality in the room. God works through our counselors to help your child find their inner voice and learn to express it without hesitation or shame. While learning how to open their hearts and minds to God, the kids are also going to participate in outdoor activities and enjoy great food and camaraderie in a safe and structured environment.
Finding and growing the love of God inside of a child is a desire among the hearts of every camp counselor, volunteer and board advisor for The Son Rocks!...
The approximate cost of camp fest last year was $5,000.00, with roughly 60% of the children who attend, being fully sponsored. Camp has grown every year. We are asking for donations in any amount, to help financially support The Son Rocks! continue improving the lives and future of our local youth and support the mission to never turn a child away from Camp Fest.
