The Shoe Project

The Shoe Project started as a failed business idea. Buying and reselling shoes from Salvation Army, John Ferguson, 12, ended up with too many shoes and too little revenue. Without much profit, John began to donate the shoes, rebranding The Shoe Project into a nonprofit. For the past three years, we've put shoes on more than 15,000 people in more than 50 countries with the help of 500 volunteers and 50 partner organizations.
