If you do not already know me, my name is Anthony Hoefer. I am a man who enjoys new experiences and challenges. This has led me to embark on an exciting journey come May 2012. Starting May 27th, I will be riding my bicycle from Vancouver, Canada to Tijuana, Mexico (roughly 2,300 miles) over the course of four weeks. It will be a beautiful and fun ride alongside the enchanting Pacific ocean. In the spirit of giving back and sharing good fortune with our fellow man, I have decided to ride to raise money for the Morada del Nino Jesus Orphanage. This is an orphanage of thirty-plus children located in Tijuana, Baja California. I will be ending my ride at the orphanage with the local newspaper reporters present.
In order to raise money for the orphanage and also to help me pay for necessities (food, room, and equipment) while on the ride, I have created this site where you can go and donate if you feel so inclined. Of the donations, 50% will go to the orphanage for their food, daily necessities, and rent, and the other 50% will help me pay for the ride. Any donations will be extremely helpful! The children and I will be very grateful and forever in your debt. I know that times are hard and money is tight, but any donations will be greatly appreciated! And if you cannot donate anything, I still thank you very much.
If you would like to donate, it is very simple. All you have to do is click on the donate link. There is no charge to do so. I thank you in advance for your generosity. I have been training for months and will continue to do so until I leave because I refuse to fail. I will make certain I am prepared mentally and physically and will NOT let you or the children down.
Thank you very much for your generosity and consideration
