Help this poor college student survive his 10 weeks in Europe as he utilizes his skills as a photographer, musician, and blogger to make the world a little smaller.
For the duration of the summer, my blog There Some Day (click title for link) will transform into a comprehensive travel journal where I will post my photography, videos, and stories with the aim to not just share my trip, but teach my friends and donors back home.
Blog posts could be (and will be) reporting on everything from the history of the hostel, analyses of a painting I saw in a museum, the geographical significance of the area, an interview with the locals and other travelers, revelations about the USA's place in the world, folklore, food, and the music of the culture.
Currently, my trip will include couchsurfing (staying at local's houses), hostels in boats, backdoor entry into the Belgium Parliament, sleeping in a circus tent, crossing and climbing the Alps, nude baths, river-tubing, chatting with Europe's best organist, and a month of studying photography and the Parisian music scene in Paris.
I will be going to:
Amsterdam, Brussels, London, Paris, Annecy/Charmonix, Cinque Terre, Rome, Venice, Vienna, Salzburg, Munich/Neushwanstein, Zurich, Grimmelwald, Baden Baden, Berlin, and--price allowing--Scandinavia.
I've dreamed of undertaking a trip like this since I was in elementary school, and took 4 years of French in high school just to prepare for it... I've been actively planning it for 8 months now. And this is the only summer I could go in... forever it seems like!
In other words... it's going to be awesome!
However, as trips often do, the estimated price has increased exponentially since I bought my plane ticket, and I am in need of financial help... literally anything and everything is appreciated. I know times are hard for everyone.
