Theresa's Trek, a Mother's Wish
Donation protected
Meet Theresa Bosworth, mother and grandmother, a woman who has worked hard to provide for her family. She values her 4 children and her grandchildren above all else. Theresa lives in Green Bay with her son, Josh Lanaville, and she is also a supporter of her community and the local music scene. Theresa is a proud mama. She is so supportive of her children and their dreams that her eldest son, Anthony (Tony) Lanaville, even named his band, Michigan Mama, after her. Tony is a member of the armed forces. He has dutifully served his country and he loves his mother as much as she loves him. Although his military career eventually landed him in Germany, where he now resides with his wife and 13-year-old son, he still makes time to talk with his mother regularly. This made the news Theresa received all the more heartbreaking. Doctors informed Tony that he was being diagnosed with CIDP, a neurological disorder that destroys the nerves and their myelin sheaths. CIDP has no cure and not enough research on it to even recommend a standard protocol for treatment. Theresa was devastated and felt helpless from over 4,000 miles away. Over time, Tony's condition, has progressively worsened due to the disease, and he is currently legally blind with only limited use of his legs. Doctors predict that they will not be able to reverse his current condition but they are trying desperately to stop the progression of this disease. Tony is in constant pain, but he puts on a brave face. Any of his Facebook friends will see pictures of him enjoying life, but these pictures are from a time before CIDP, and his struggle is certainly real. He tells his mother how much he would love to see her and have her there with him, even if just for a little while. Theresa is retired and on a fixed income. Plane tickets and an expedited passport are simply out of reach for her, but she needs to see her son. Please consider donating even $10.00 to this cause. A little amount from a lot of people will go a long way to help make this mother's wish come true.
