Emelda is a wife, mother and grandmother who has continued to defy odds and persevere to fight an illness that was predicted to give her a mere six months to live. She has surpassed that prediction by years.
On September 12th 2016, Emelda was diagnosed with a stage IV breast and lymph node cancer. She and her family were informed that she had less than a year to live and to prepare for the worst.
Unwavering in her faith, she is still here with us fighting and winning her battle with cancer which has now metastasized to her hips and brain. She is presently undergoing chemotherapy and ongoing medical care. The gift of life is priceless. However, medical expenses and medical bills continue to rise as Emelda has not been able to work. Her husband Percy, other family members and friends have been a great source of financial and emotional support throughout.
You may have heard the saying "There is strength in numbers". Emelda has proven her strenght in her daily battle with cancer. Everyday she is here with us is a reminder that nothing is impossible.
