Thenjiwe Comedy

PS: Update... I am happy to inform you that I have been able to travel back home to be reunited with my family. 

Hi, I am a stand up comedian, writer,  producer  and content creator from South Africa.

When all this happened I was in Pre Production for two movies  that I have written, a short film  on the plight of LBGT youth growing up in a society that believes that there is a cure for it and a feature length  movie addressing child marriage.

I usually fund my projects from the money I make on the road as a stand up comedian. I don't know about you but the global pandemic did not factor into my plans for 2020. The lockdown and social distancing has caused gigs and productions to be cancelled or postponed indefinitely but bills still needing to be paid, I suddenly find myself having to ask for your help so that I can continue with the projects as planned. Stand up comedy is how I put food on my table and online skits are just my way of keeping you entertained from the comfort of your own home, unfortunately the end of March is a peak period for comedy shows and the big shows and tours were just about to take off when Covid19 happened.

I have always used comedy as a form of edutainment in both my big screen work, tv , stand up comedy and social media platforms such as YouTube, Instagram and Facebook.

I have created, written and acted in two of my sitcoms on television in South Africa MEET THE KHAMBULES and JUDGE THENJIWE KHAMBULE, both firm favourite with South African audiences. My  full Profile with a list of movies I have written and acted in is available upon request. 

The money will help with pre-production and the whole production of the projects, including, hiring of equipment, locations and paying of talent and crew.

The intention is to enter the movies in film festivals around the world as well as showcase them to audiences across Africa.
