Benefit for Carol Reckinger and Family

Hi, thank you for reading. On Thursday, January 23rd 2014, Carol (Lahti) Reckinger was found in her home suffering from symptoms of a stroke. She was taken to Hutchinson hospital by ambulance and then airlifted to HCMC. She was diagnosed with a brain bleed due to an arteriovenous malformation (avm). On day 1 her chances of survival were slim but she is beating the odds and her chances of a good recovery are getting better by the day though she still hasn't woken up. She has been surrounded by loved ones and will hopefully wake up in the next few days. The road to recovery is going to be a long one with many bridges to cross. And the challenges are still to be determined as we look forward. Carol has a loving husband (Paul) and 3 children (Michael 30), (Dustin 25), and (Lahti 21). And many other family members and loved ones who have spent a lot of time visiting and showing support. Although she is insured it is not known yet what out of pocket expenses may be incurred and her family has had to take time off of work. Money had been very tight and is bound to get tighter as we move forward with recovery and make many trips back and forth between Dassel and Minneapolis. Any financial contributions could really ease some of the stress of trying to make ends meet as this tragedy unfolds and more is learned.
