Lets feed 18,000 needy in Nigeria!

Hello everyone.

I am a US citizen; born and raised! I met my Nigerian husband in the US and for 37 years we have lived a good life and raised 4 children.

Through the years , I have always had a heart for the less priviledged and its amazsing how many of Nigeria's over 180million people live on less that $1 a day.  In the US, we are privileged to have a fairly stable government that provides things like food stamps and and other support organizations that establish soup kitchens,  but in all my research there are no fully functional soup kitchens in Nigeria. There are a few churches that may provide free meals from time to time but no organisation established for this purpose.

And thats why The Candlelight Foundation was born. Its the first official soup kitchen in Nigeria and has provided over 3500 meals since it opened its doors on the 24th of April 2017.  Established during one of the harshest of economic times Nigeria has ever experienced, the patrons and people in general are still in shock that one person with no government aid or sponsorship could do something like this.  We provide meals every Monday, Wednesday and Friday but we are striving to make it a daily affair as there are so many that rely on this foundation for their daily meal.

This platform has allowed us to give comfort to the numerous families that cannot feed themselves, a place to rest weary legs and take shade from the sun; a place with clean water  and bathing facilities to be used free of charge, a place without judgment and prejudice; a place to recieve hope.  The Candlelight Foundation exists to curb hunger induced crimes, and to divert ones' energy from worrying about this most basic yet most imporant need  to focusing ones' energy on something more productive.

The Candlelight envisions creating shelters similar to those found in the US,  and a vocational school to help qualified and interested patrons gain practical hands on skills which will improve their productivity and help them find gainful employment.  This venture is so important for Nigeria as a nation.  It is also critical to the emotional and mental health of so many that feel segregated by a class system, neglected by a government that has failed them, and disenfranchised due to a lack the basic skills and ettiquette to function in society.

I am so passionate about this that If it were possible, I would continue this venture alone, but it isn't sustainable and I am asking that you help me feed 18000 less priviledged people by Christmas. It costs less than $2 to feed one adult!  They say little drops make an ocean and if you would be willing to be a little drop in this ocean it would be greatly appreciated!

Our motto:  " A hot meal in every stomach, a chance to change every circumstance," clearly establishes our goal to positively influence a persons' future  through food.    Please join us in creating the chance to change the circumstance of the less priviledge.  Your contribution would impact greatly on the lives of our patrons.

Thank you.
