The Crossroads Short Film funding

I am James Anthony, shooter behind James Anthony Photography and #JamesShootsAndDraws. I’ve spent the last 15 years building my career as a photographer and visual artist. Cultivating my brand while traveling the world shooting spreads and covers for global brands, magazines, celebrities, and unforgettable clients has continuously quenched my insatiable appetite as a creative. Through James Anthony Photography, I have captured each subject’s story within the capsule of a moment of time by way of the photograph.
It’s at this point in my journey that I am thrilled to expand as a storyteller into filmmaking with my first short film, CROSSROADS.
Logline: A talented young black photographer looks back at a decision he made that would change the course of his life during his college years. Through his mother, he reflects on his journey to not let his past misfortunes, define his future.
CROSSROADS is a story that is deeply personal to me, and one that I am now sharing with the world. Co-written by myself and Bethel Dixon (writer/producer), CROSSROADS will hit deep emotional chords as we witness a talented young black photographer make a decision that changes the course of his life during his college years. Along with our audience, we will grapple with the arduous journey of our main character Rodney, and in turn reflect on our own life choices and mistakes, together coming to the realization that the detours and unforeseen seasons we may experience in life are designed to be honored, as they shape us all into who we ultimately rise to become.
Inspired by the mood of MOONLIGHT, the urgency and pacing behind THE NIGHT OF, and the collegiate presence of BURNING SANDS, CROSSROADS will be a deep cinematic experience delivering short form excellence packed with emotion to its audience.
OUR GOAL
With a goal of shooting, editing, and packaging the film before year end, we are asking the village to support our crowd funding campaign to help bring CROSSROADS to life on the screen.
Through our GoFundMe campaign, we are striving to raise $10,000 to complete the film.
