The Yard UA Minority Scholarship

I’m Jaylan Brown, a junior at the University of Arkansas and creator of @theyardua. I created the platform in order to enhance the portrayal of black excellence and culture on the University of Arkansas campus. The Yard serves as a space for both prospective and current students to engage and create relationships while also creating a more cultural experience at a University dominated by different backgrounds. Our minority students lack resources, knowledge and connections when it comes to college and opportunity. By adding a scholarship component to this platform, a student(s) of need will have the chance to receive additional funding to go towards their college journey which is already bound to consist of barriers and obstacles.
