The Willow Primary School needs to raise £10,000 per year to provide FREE instrumental music education for their Year 4 children (60 children aged 8-9). For the last 10 years, the school has been proudly offering the programme where all children in the year-group learn to play an instrument that is theirs to keep for the year. However, extra demands on the school budget mean the school can no longer afford to fund this transformative programme. Today, Broadwaters’ Parents and Carers (BPAC) are seeking donations to ensure that future generations of children have the life-changing opportunity to learn an instrument, have fun and grow self-confidence through music.
Due to the expense of buying instruments and hiring tutors, music has become less and less accessible for children and young people. Will you please join our mission to keep music education free at the point of entry?

The Willow On Broadwaters - Music 4 All!
*The Whole Class Instrumental Teaching (WCIT) programme is an optional musical training course subsidised by Haringey Council and Arts Council England and is offered to all Year 4 children as well as twenty from Years 5 and 6, at a cost of £9,853 per year for a two-form entry school. As part of its fundraising activities, the school is also in the process of applying for a grant to cover instrument hire costs for the next year.
*Every pound donated will be used to provide the supplementary music education for the children at the Willow.
*How £10,000 will be spent:
- £7,853 for hiring instrument tutors for 360 hours (80 children to have 90 minutes' lessons x 30 weeks)
- £2,000 for hiring 80 instruments for one year (e.g., clarinets, violins, etc)
- Any leftovers: Saved for 2025/26 and onwards (£10,000 per year)
