The Uganda Education Fund

Donation protected
Welcome.  We are Michael and Kati from Live Fun Travel, and this is our fund to help desperate families in Uganda send their children to school.  Kati and I fell in love with Uganda after traveling there to experience Gorillas in the wild, but we experienced a lot more. We got to know warm and inviting people that went out of their way to welcome us. When we gave a tip to our guide, he immediately thought about a teacher friend to share it with. When we questioned him about his friend, he told us that the schools had been shut down for almost two years, and he had had difficulty feeding his family without a job or income. We stopped and bought some fruit and vegetables to be taken to him and wished we could do more.

Over the last two years, Uganda schools have been closed because of the pandemic, but they have recently re-opened. Most parents have lost their jobs over the last couple of years and are struggling. Struggling for food. Struggling to work and find jobs. Struggling to educate their children.

Unfortunately, the government opened the schools but could not provide funding and school fees are due. If parents cannot pay them, then their children have to stay home.

The typical school fees for a child range from 450,000 Uganda Shillings to 800,000 ($130USD to $220USD). Uniforms and Registration come out to another 70,000 Uganda Shillings, or about $20USD.

For $150 to USD 220, someone can sponsor a Ugandan child for their entire school year.
We would appreciate any donation and make sure that it is given directly to the child's school to cover their expenses and make a difference in their lives.
