The Trotty’s Dreams, Shattered

Don protégé
When a picture perfect family gets violated we need to pull together as a community to help support them. The Trotty‘s need $100,000 to make things right again. This could happen to any of us, including myself. For three years they saved up money and dreamed to do an expansion on their home. They researched every individual they worked with. They dotted every “I” and crossed every “T” on their contract. A construction contract does not protect the buyer from theft. The backyard where we used to play ball and have picnics, where their son would camp out for sleep overs, and their dog Ruby would go out every day, now exists with a massive structure-damaged disaster. It’s true to say that their lives in many ways have a massive hole in the center. Their contractors took $80,000 to create an indecent foundation for the home extension and soon after announced section 7 bankruptcy without even purchasing what they said that they were going to purchase, nor paying for services rendered. That money was hard earned and saved over years. These are smart, frugal people, which have a literal hole in their basement and an attached foundation that’s no longer useful after the ice and snow has compromised it.

This isn’t even the worst part. During the time that all this was happening the Trotty‘s lost their brother to suicide, their mom had a stroke, and their other mom had a quadruple bypass surgery. Needless to say they’re living with total mistrust after being utterly violated.

The reason that I’m posting this is because time is of the essence in order to fix the damage of the cinderblocks that line their backyard. If they ever see a penny of their money it won’t be for many years. They need money for lawyer fees, money to fix the damaged foundation, and money for a new permit. They’re hopeful that what exists in their backyard doesn’t damage the foundation of their initial home. They are fighting currently not to have to move. Every time they look into their backyard, out their old kitchen window they are struck by a massive hole and pile of dirt. The area is completely dysfunctional. The township is upset, and they feel shamed. Their whole lives have been ripped away.

I ask that you realize that this could’ve been any of us. Please, let’s pull together financially and help them rebuild their home so that they can stay happily in Cherry Valley, Cherry Hill.

They are a corner stone family of Cherry Valley living there for 12 years. They own the house on the block that we play basketball out front and, they are a family that supports the church. Mr. Trotty supports the music ministry at Christ Our Light Church. Not to mention he also takes care of behavior stricken children in the nearby community of Collingswood. Mrs. Trotty uses her hands to care for babies in the NICU at Virtua. These people are loving, kind, wonderful people. They don’t deserve this. No one deserves this. The justice system is flawed, and they are completely traumatized due to this. Please help financially so we could rebuild our corner stone family who loves their Cherry Valley community. Thank you.
