The Tite family needs our help!

Dear Friends,

It is with heavy hearts that we reach out to you today to share the heartbreaking news about our dear friend, Shannon Tite. Shannon, along with her husband Rick and their two young children, Reagan (1 year) and Sawyer (4 years) are facing an unimaginable challenge as Shannon battles Stage 4 invasive metastatic ductal breast carcinoma that has now spread to her lymph nodes, liver and spine.

Shannon's journey began in the summer of 2023 when she noticed troubling symptoms in her breast shortly after weaning her daughter, Reagan. Despite seeking medical attention, her concerns were initially dismissed as mastitis. However, when symptoms persisted, Shannon advocated for further investigation, leading to a mammogram and subsequent biopsy in January 2024. The results confirmed the devastating diagnosis, revealing that the cancer had already spread aggressively to her lymph nodes, liver, and spine (causing a fracture.)

The months leading up to Shannon's diagnosis were filled with uncertainty and fear. She endured debilitating back pain, which was initially attributed to the strains of motherhood. As a 39-year-old mother of two young children, Shannon's priority was always her family. Yet, as her symptoms worsened, she knew something was very wrong.

Now, as Shannon faces the most challenging battle of her life, the financial strain on the Tite family is immense. Shannon, who had just returned to work after maternity leave, is now unable to work or fully care for her children due to her illness. She is relying on support from family and friends, as well as her husband Rick, who is working full-time while juggling childcare responsibilities. Unfortunately, Shannon is ineligible for E.I. and is facing a 4-month wait for disability assistance (which is dismal). With mounting medical bills, childcare costs, and everyday expenses, the family is in urgent need of support.

Shannon has already endured intensive treatments, including radiation to her back to help with severe pain caused by a fracture in her spine. Additionally, she has just begun a first round of chemotherapy and two biologic drug targeted therapy treatments, which she will continue once every three weeks for a total of 6-8 treatments (approximately 6 months). The two biologic drugs can continue indefinitely, provided they are effective.

We have launched this GoFundMe campaign to rally around Shannon and her family during this incredibly difficult time. Your generosity can provide crucial financial relief, covering essential living expenses, medical bills, childcare costs, and potentially exploring alternative treatments that offer hope and healing.
