The Shot Bar & The Understudy Recovery Fund
We started The Shot Bar in 2012 and The Understudy in 2017. What started as a dream has grown into two bars and a community that has surpassed any of our wildest expectations.
We took this public health crisis very seriously and closed both bars more than a week before our city required us to. As expected though, this has taken an extraordinary toll both on our staff and on our bars’ ability to survive the upcoming summer months. As prepared as we were for bad weeks and bad months, we were not prepared for what has happened due to the mandatory shut downs our city and our nation are experiencing.
Unfortunately, the bars are at a point we have never experienced before and without some help it is facing a pretty grim future. The stimulus that the government has put together is going to end up being too little, and possibly even too late.
A large portion of our staff has been able to qualify for unemployment but unfortunately some do not. Any help that is offered would be greatly appreciated, I can not adequately describe how much it would mean to us and our staff during this trying time. Most of us have lost our only source of income.
We will be splitting any donations between our staff that are out of work and the bar to keep our doors open for our wonderful customers and employees when this nightmare ends.
Thank you so much for all of your support in the past and the future, our hearts go out to anyone generous enough to donate in these trying times.
