Shalom! We are raising funds for what will be called 'The Shalom Truck,' a food truck and outreach vehicle aimed towards providing food and necessities to the homeless and needy in the Macon, Georgia area. While there are resources available for the homeless in the area, there is nevertheless a significant lack in providing for these people, and particularly so with respect to showing the love of God and giving them the Gospel. To attempt to meet these needs we have operated a ministry of homeless outreach boxes in the winter--providing food, sleeping bags, hygiene products, etc.--and the Lord has put it upon us to start this.
Our goal will be to provide healthy, quality, and consistent food to people in the area while simultaneously giving out other supplies that are needed. We purchased the food truck pictured at the end of April as a seed for what God would do with it, and we are starting this GoFundMe to raise the funds necessary to make the vehicle fully operational, functional, and capable of feeding people. The plans we have are ever-developing and endless in scope, but our goal is to get this on the road in a productive, sanitary, and safe shape that is able to operate as the Lord desires it to.
We have an Amazon List of what is required for the food truck, which funds from here will either directly purchase or find alternatives for, as well as paying for general mechanical, aesthetic, and maintenance needs for the truck. While we do not have any set-in-stone deadlines or plans, as the food truck needs funding, we strongly want the truck to be ready and active before fall as colder weather sets in and the need for warm foods and supplies increases.
We thank each and every person who gives, and for those who are unable to give we ask that you keep this ministry in prayer. It is a cold, dark area here with so many who need to hear and see how much God loves them and be fed literal and figurative manna from heaven, or from God's Hands, which He does so by using us all. Once the food truck is up and running we will create some type of platform for it to be regularly updated, as we want to share the fruit of what the Lord does with the truck as well as allow people to partner both with feedings in person and contributing towards feedings as the ministry becomes active. Again, thank you all so much, and may He bless each and everyone of us to pursue His Will and expand His Kingdom to the four corners of the world (or, Macon, for now).
Shalom!
