The Russo Family House-Fire Fund

Donation protected

When tragedy strikes a community, such as it did for the Russo family on a snowy Saturday afternoon in January, it’s important to reflect on what we value as human beings, and come to the aid of those in need and in their darkest of hours.

On January 18th, 2020, at approximately 12:40pm, The Russo residence, located at 320 Park Ave. in Nutley, NJ caught fire, claiming the lives of young Danny Russo (7) and his mother Amanda Russo (29).

Danny’s grandfather (Al Russo) barely escaped with his life, as I escorted him to safety away from his burning house. Unfortunately, Danny and Amanda were not able to be reached in time, as the fiery blaze had already claimed their young lives.

As a 1st responder on the scene, I will always live with the question of “What If?”

”What if I was a few minutes earlier?”
”What if I would have tried the front door 1st and saved 30 seconds or so?”
”What if I was able to save them all? What a different story we would all be telling today.”

While we cannot change the past, we do have the ability to influence the future. While no amount of money could ever replace what was lost that day, a small donation, in any denomination could go a long way to help the Russo family get back on their feet, possibly rebuild their family home, and help lighten the financial burden the family is sure to encounter in the coming weeks and months.

Why am I doing this?

It’s simple. God called upon me to help. I tried my best, but feel terrible that I was not able to save them all.

This is one last way that I can help.

One last way that I can say I’m sorry for not being able to save them all.

...and one last way to show the world that love and compassion for other people, no matter what race, religion or political affiliation is still hardwired into our hearts and souls when the rubber hits the road.

God bless the Russo Family, May Danny and Amanda Rest In Peace, and I pray that the remaining friends and family members are able to collect the shattered pieces of this event and eventually find peace.

I urge you to be a hero in your own way and please donate to the cause today.

May God Bless You All.
