The Runaway Clone

Donation protected
We are looking to raise money for our 2018 Hollywood Fringe production of The Runaway Clone.

It's a musical that takes place in the future and is about an Agency that makes clones and sells them to people who have lost loved ones. To fill the void inside their heart. One clone learns all the agency's secrets and.... Runs away. With the Agency after her, the Runaway Clone must find salvation with other runaway clones and spread the truth!

Ruckus Rockwell has teamed up with The Unknown Artists yet again! They collaborated last year for The Hollywood Fringe Festival to do "13th Grade" which made a nice splash for a first timer! Now they hope to take the reputation they built with that ridiculous musical comedy and throw it into another ridiculous musical comedy!

Publicity costs, Performance musician fees, Rehearsal musician fees, actors, props, costumes, fringe Fees and space rental are all a part of the many costs for our show and we'd love any help you'd be willing to give! Every little bit helps and if everyone we know donated $5, we'd be more than fully funded! (not cause we only know 500 people)

Every donation will get a shout out on our Facebook page (If we can hopefully find you online!)

We're  on the Fringe Site and tickets go on sale on May 1st!  http://www.hollywoodfringe.org/projects/5208

History of The Runaway Clone: Jonathan and Pam met off of... wait for it... Craigslist in New York in 2014. Pam was looking for a collaborator on a new musical and Jonathan was looking to say "Yes" to as many opportunities that crossed his desk. Fearful that she might be a serial killer, he asked his boyfriend Bob to check her Instagram before their meeting. And there she was, with a huge smile on her face, holding a bunch of knives in her most recent picture. (Unbeknownst to Jonathan, Pam had just visited the prop department on the set of ShowTime's Dexter. ) After a *gulp* he decided to meet with her anyway and The Runaway Clone was born. The Runaway Clone was a concept Pam had while in the shower. "What if I walk backwards through this stream of water and all of my memories are suddenly erased? And then I'm sold to someone so that they can have some company. whilst mourning the loss of a loved one?" She then naturally decided to write a musical about it. But she needed help! She was a book writer and a lyricist but sheet music was hieroglyphics to her as she does everything on guitar by ear. It had to be someone brilliant. And since Sara Bareilles was busy, It had to be Jonathan Brenner! From the first day of their collaboration to The Runaway Clone making it through the New York Musical Theatre Festival in 2015 with rave reviews, Pam and Jonathan knew they had stumbled upon something very special. This has gotta be the best advertisement for Craigslist out there!

Quote from BroadwayWorld.com ""It's the year 2250. Thanks to a mysterious agency, cloning is a very real cure for feeling lonely or missing deceased loved ones. But can memories be cloned too ? It's a madcap premise, and having attended an earlier reading last year, we can promise you it's kookier than it sounds. But book writer Pamela Eberhardt brings plenty of heart to human and almost-human relationships and composer Jonathan Brenner's melodies are remarkable and-truly uncloneable. "
