GORGOT PRODUCTIONS IS EXCITED TO ANNOUNCE ITS FIRST SHORT: "SEND IT TO THE ROEDDES"!
Our short film will be a beautiful ode to an often unrecognized family that shaped modern Vancouver and serve as an educational benefit for generations to come.
- Based on a real life German family who immigrated to Vancouver in the 1890s and played a huge part in the establishment of the West End, our female led creative team and cast
will bring this never-before dramatized cultural gem to the screen.
- Set in 1897, our film follows a day in the life of Emma, the youngest of the Roedde daughters. A year after the death of her sister, 11 year old Emma overcomes grief and loneliness and joins her family in welcoming a new baby into their lives.
-------- In partnership with the Roedde House Museum
we will be shooting in the family’s original home, fully restored and transformed into a living museum through painstaking years of dedicated research and labour. ---------HOW CAN YOU MAKE THIS HERITAGE MORE ACCESSIBLE?
Short films are challenging to make and period films add an extra level of difficulty, but we’re up for the challenge!
However much you would like to donate to our film would be amazing and would go towards paying cast and crew first and foremost for their time and dedication, gear, costumes and crafty. If you’re unable to donate, please share this link with your friends and family!
We’re so excited to make this film the best it can be and do justice to the Roedde’s legacy. Thank you for your time!TEAM ROEDDE OUT!
