The Rodger Middleton Memorial Fund

It is with enormous sadness that we announce the tragic death of our dear friend and colleague Rodger Middleton. Rodger left us unexpectedly on January 2, 2021 while battling COVID-19 related complications. He is mourned by his best friend and devoted wife of 26 years, Debbie (Hart) Middleton, his beloved children Amanda, Kiana, Aaron, and his four amazing grandchildren, along with his many friends at home and at the Harvard Medical School.
This fund has been established to help defray the immediate funeral, memorial, and day-to-day costs that arrive with such an unexpected tragedy. All proceeds will go directly to Debbie.
Born and raised in Boston, Rodger graduated from Hyde Park High and went on to work for the Boston Housing Authority. Rodger went on to further his career at the Harvard Medical School, working as a supervisor in the Harvard Center for Comparative Medicine for 31 years. During Rodger’s time at Harvard, he continued his schooling part-time and nights, and graduated from New England Hair Academy.
While working at Harvard, Rodger met his loving wife Debbie, who has worked in the HMS parking department for 26 years. Together, Rodger and Debbie created a beautiful, loving family.
Rodger will forever be missed for his kindness, his sense of humor, and his friendly smile that touched many of his colleagues during walks across the Harvard Longwood Campus. In Rodger’s spare time he was an avid sports fanatic, but most of all he loved working on new projects in the family home or wherever he was needed. However, his least favorite project was working-on and maintaining the pool. Rodger always joked that he kept up his youthful physique while carrying Debbie’s shopping bags. Rodger’s most favorite time of the day was nap time with the grandbabies.
Rodger played such an enormous role in so many people's lives, his absence will be missed by all he touched.
