The road to the next Winter Olympics 2026

Donation protected
Hi, I’m Josh.
In 2008 aged 18, I joined the army, fulfilling my life long dream. In March 2009 I deployed to Afghanistan with 23 Pioneer Regiment. On the 17th of September 2009 my life changed forever when my vehicle was struck by an improvised explosive device. As a result of the explosion I lost both legs above the knee. After 3 years of learning how to walk, and do other normal activity I used to take for granted, I was discharged from the army. Shortly after this I was introduced to Para Ice Hockey or Sledge Hockey as it also known. This sport has helped me massively; physically and mentally.

Now once again I have been asked to represent my country, but instead of the battlefield this time it will be on a ice pad as a member of Team GB in Thailand. My team is in Pool C. If we can win promotion to Pool B, we would qualify to compete in the next Winter Olympics. Unfortunately Para Ice Hockey receives no Government funding, so that is why I’m asking people to donate to allow me the opportunity to serve my country again.

All monies raised will go towards funding the expense of going out to the tournament in Thailand, and for the cost of new equipment.
Thank you for your support. Any donations you can make will be hugely appreciated.
