The road to recovery for Nick Jones

Hi, my name is Olivia for those that I haven’t had the pleasure of meeting yet. Nick is my brother and best friend. Nick was rushed to Scripps La Jolla Trauma center after a life threatening bicycle crash in Encinitas a few blocks from his home on Sunday, October 3rd.

Nick underwent emergency neurological surgery to relieve the hematoma on his brain as well as a metal plate put in to repair the fracture to his skull. Nick is currently stable and on a ventilator. He has broken all bones on the left side of his face as well as a fracture to T3 and his sternum. We are currently waiting on the cardiologist next steps to repair his aorta.

My mom and I are lucky enough to be by his bedside. With the many COVID policies in place we are so thankful for the amazing staff who has let us spend over the allotted time with him. Nick is truly the light of our lives and has made an impact on all of our lives in his special way. He is SO loved by his friends, family and “Enci community”. We will continue to update his conditions here on this page. Please pray as we are going to be facing a very long road to recovery.
