Important July 9th update:

Because of the amazing support from their friends (the Snohomish Community), including so many friends they didn’t know they had, the Story Maker Students have more wonderful news to report about their Yellow Brick Road to Oz (California).
The Snohomish Story Makers Yard Sale and Bake Sale Fundraiser on July 6th raised more than $2,500! Thank you to everyone who made this possible!
And in memory of my father Frank Spaetig, the Tillicum Kiwanis Club donated $500!
This allows us to reduce the amount of funds we need to $16,750.
Here is an update on our previous successes.
The Snohomish Education Foundation awarded us with an Exceptional Achievement Grant to cover half of the National Conference registration fees.
Wonder Media received a grant to offset the costs related to providing breakfast and lunch to the students during the two-day conference.
Merle Kirkley generously gifted a student with one airline flight with his frequent flier airline miles rewards.
Snohomish Lions Club President Mike Edwards purchased a second airline ticket for a student.
We are more than 1/2 of the way there with four weeks remaining!
Our goal is to help 22 Riverview Elementary and Snohomish Boys & Girls Club students in 4th, 5th and 6th grades attend the Second Annual National Story Maker® Conference to be held August 5-6 in Universal City!
Invitations to this exclusive event have been sent to Story Maker ® studios in 172 schools in 22 states.
The students at the Riverview Elementary School and at the Snohomish Boys & Girls Club worked hard this past winter and spring creating custom sequences for the first feature-length animated movie ever produced by students: “The WonderGrove Wizard of Oz”.
The movie is a remake of L. Frank Baum’s Wizard of Oz with a special twist: Dorothy is scared about her transition from elementary school in Snohomish, but with the help of her Oz friends Dorothy overcomes her anxiety and is able to confidently begin her middle school years. The story of how that miracle is accomplished was uniquely conceived and produced by each studio in their own scenes submitted to Wonder Media for a May 24th deadline.
Students used Wonder Media’s Story Maker® process to perform all of the movie's production roles as artists, musicians, singers, script writers, voice actors, animators, technicians, and producers.
The two-day National Conference brings together Story Maker® students and teachers from across the United States to share their experiences and learn from Wonder Media's executives, creative talent, technicians and trainers. Conference attendees will also enjoy the first-ever public screening of their movie at the world-famous Grauman’s Chinese Theater in Hollywood, California!

Last Year’s Wonder Media Summer Conference
You are not alone in helping us “follow the yellow brick road” to Hollywood for this amazing opportunity available to our top students. We are also seeking funding from the following sources:
- Students and parent chaperones attending the conference
- Individual and business donors responding to the student's letter writing campaign
- Kiwanis Club of Snohomish
- Ticket sales from "The WonderGrove Wizard of Oz” movie premiere fundraiser to be held this October in Snohomish
