The Rivals Walk

IF YOU'RE A DOVER ATHLETIC FAN WHO SHARES MY CONCERNS PLEASE READ ON AND SHARE IF YOU SEE FIT. (Many of my friends aren't remotely interested in DAFC, which I fully respect and understand, so if you're one of them just scroll down and ignore me for once could you? Thanks.) Good friends of mine tell me that if we just relax and see who blinks first, the current crisis we find ourselves in will just blow over. I hope they're right....but just in case. Cutting a very long story short our club, like many others around the country not in the realms of the cash-rich few, has outgoings but no income until can open its gates to supporters again. We hope to be going to games again in October, but that's by no means certain. So rehashing an idea that worked rather well in 2004, I thought I might get my walking boots on again and try and raise a few quid, given that I've got time on my hands and one good leg. Others might join me with a bit of luck, but we'll get back to that later. My idea is initially called the Rivals Tour (until someone comes up with something less crap) and would cover four individual legs along East Kent's s pectacular coast as follows (which would be fitted in as and when). Leg 1: Crabble to Deal Town FC. 9.7 miles. Leg 2. Deal Town FC to Ramsgate FC. 12.5 miles. Leg 3. Crabble to Folkestone Invicta FC. 8.2 miles. Leg 4. xFolkestone Invicta FC to Hythe Town FC. 5.6 miles. I should stress that this is just an idea at this point and my aim at this point is to see if you might sponsor me for, say, £5 per individual leg (though smaller contributions would be gratefully received.) If the interest is there, I'll get official backing and somebody who understands these things to set up a just giving page.
