The Riley Foundation

OUR FIRST LARGE SCALE PROJECT - THE RILEY FOUNDATION SENSORY BUS - ON TOUR!!!

Ok folks so our first large scale project has been decided today by our Board! We are so excited about this project and hope you all share our enthusiasm for it!! What we envisage is a single decker ex-service bus which will be wrapped in The Riley Foundation logo with the eye-catching slogan 'Sensory Bus On Tour'. The inside of the bus will be completely renovated and fitted out with the highest quality state-of-the-art sensory equipment giving users a fully immersive sensory experience! The bus will be accessible to the public at many social events such as Summer fairs, Armed Forces Day, Emergency Services Day and Festivals etc where huge numbers of families with SEN children find themselves struggling for ways to entertain their special children (and adults) whilst attending these occasions (ourselves included). It will especially appeal to families who have both SEN and non-SEN members meaning that everyone will finally be able to enjoy a family day out together at last without compromise. This Sensory Bus will be a game changer for these families and help to make events inclusive for all.

The bus will also be available for private hire, be that a special occasion such as weddings and birthdays or if you are running a private event, what better way to keep your SEN guests of all ages happy!! It will have wheelchair access and a variety of spaces to suit different needs.

Here at the Riley Foundation we truly believe in meeting the needs of both children and adults with SEN and other Learning Disabilities in schools and at home and at public places. As parents of children with SEN we know only too well the lack of services and vital pieces of equipment available for these children and adults along with knowing the benefits of having access to such facilities. Bringing The Sensory Bus to public events like these will change the whole experience of the day for its users.

All of our team members hold an Enhanced DBS and are experienced with all types of SEN.
