Restoration of the Boys School help mental health.

My name is Darren and I believe Father God gave me a vision of restoring vintage caravans and helping people in the community by teaching them skills working on the caravans and sharing the goodness of God along the way. 

 

In August 2021, 8 months after our first meeting we married and in the same month purchased The Boys School (Est. 1863) in Eastwood, Nottingham. We find it very exciting that 157 years later the school will be used for teaching once again, This is stage one of both of our visions coming to pass.

The building needs some restoration and areas need completing, a lot of this can be done by ourselves by up sourcing reused materials, but as we need the building in a working order to work from i.e., a working office to take in bookings for students, a functional workshop area to restore the caravans and all necessary insurances and safety elements, we are seeking funding to enable this to move forward, as income cannot be established until The Boys School can be made ready to work from.

 

Once the work has been completed these are the people in the community that we will be looking to reach out to; Adults struggling with mental health and need help to refocus back into life, adults with additional needs and young adults struggling with school life or social difficulties. Part of the vision is to be able to give one to one practical skill-based education, therefore building self esteem and furthering self-belief in the individuals to give them a fresh and new way of thinking.

 

As we reach out in Love to our Community our hope is that Christ in our lives will shine through.
