Dear Fairy Angels,
Did you know that over the course of the last year many domestic violence centers across the country have experienced a significant uptick in the number of intimate domestic violence cases they see? Under normal circumstances, marginalized women are more likely to experience domestic violence in their own homes from the people they love and trust the most. But now in the wake of COVID-19, continued quarantines, loss of jobs, and economic inequalities have put these women at even more risk of emotional, physical, and financial abuse. Unfortunately, there are limited organizations and resources available to help women escape these situations or provide them with continued support or chances to further themselves once they have left. This is why our goal of raising money for our Purple Diamond Domestic Violence Fund is more URGENT than ever before!
I am writing today to thank all of you who have already donated to the Purple Diamond Award Gala Scholarship Fund. We appreciate your support more than you know! While we have made a great start with raising over $2,000 in the past couple of weeks, the Fund is still far from $50,000 goal and the team has to make goal by 08/31/2021. The funds will provide emergency housing to women and children who currently at a domestic violence shelter we adopted and who wants and deserve permanent housing. We will honor the recipients and provide financial rental assistance for security deposit, rental assistance, and to help them obtain a trade of their choice. Please help our team help these women to fresh start as resources are limited.
