The Potocki Family

My sister Shani (33) and brother-in-law Brett (38) along with their two children Layla (5 yrs) and Logan (9 months) have endured much as a family over the past 6 years. Brett has had his own battle with cancer and they had two precious baby boys born with wings at almost full term, Luka in 2019 and Ashton in 2021.

In October 2022 Shani, after major surgery to remove a large mass has now been diagnosed with Lymphoma. This extremely aggressive and fast-growing cancer has been found in her kidneys, adrenal glands, pelvis, ovaries, and right breast. She began chemo on 2/11/2022 and will continue fortnightly for the next 6 months all being well. The Lymphoma has a high rate of growing in spinal fluid and the brain, so after chemo, she will then have 2 rounds of different chemo to protect her brain and spinal cord.

Between the cost of medical treatments needed, hospital trips, groceries, bills and taking care of two little ones, keeping up with all these financial needs has been quite overwhelming for their family. Shani is unable to work and Brett being the amazing sole provider he is, has already and will need to continue to take much time off work to support Shani and to take care of during her chemo journey.
