The Nessett Family

Greg Nessett and his family were forever changed by a sudden and unknown health condition. One afternoon in October of 2017 Greg was working and adjusting something on his control panel and fell to the ground. He was immediately hit by a cardiac arrest, time was desperate and thankfully a group of people including first responders and medical professionals his life was saved. Greg was air transported to the hospital where he was touch and go for the longest time. His body was cooled to save his life and he spent weeks in intensive care.  Greg has gone through countless surgeries and has had to learn basic life skills all over again. His doctors say his treatment and healing process are in uncharted waters because the medical staff has not treated someone who has actually survived this sudden life changing event.

Today Greg is experiencing additional unforeseen complications from his life saving procedures and has developed a tumor that will need immediate removal (more surgery) This family has been and continues to struggle to identify what the new normal is and the path forward. It has become clear they also have become aware that the new normal is mounting medical debt and the financial stress that is becoming the new normal.

They have gone from a family with a child in school and working parents to having their world turned upside down and not sure what way is up.  As a co-worker I know the immense amount of financial burden and stress this family has been navigating. Because of this I am asking for you to give as much as you can. We have a goal of $10,000 to help dent the medical bills that are totaling the $100’s of thousands, and with new life saving medical procedures there will only be more additional medical costs and a continued adaptation to their new normal.
