Motivation for The  Mobile Moon Co-op:

The Mobile Moon Co-op aims to preserve communities and ecosystems through education, empowerment and botanical stewardship. We believe that working with, and learning from, the lands, plants, and fungi a healthier and more fulfilled way of life is possible for everyone. The Mobile Moon Co-op is a collective of women and queers working to create positive change, like seeds bursting the surface of the soil.

The Mobile Moon Co-op is an apothecary and resource library on wheels. Last year we raised enough money to purchase a 1980  School bus. Then we began converting it to a safe space for learning and healing.  Now, a year later, we have produced 5 (almost 6) informative and artistic publications,  opened up for work parties, tea gatherings, urban herb-ins, and mountain plant walks. We presented 8 official workshops for the general public via partner organizations. And we have made ripples throughout the community! Now, as we enter the next phase of this endeavor we can identify the following objectives:

Objective 1: To paint the bus and get off the grid by revamping the waste vegetable oil system in the bus and installing solar panels. We want to make the bus beautiful inside and out! There is already an installed set of tanks for vegetable oil under the bus so that our co-op can run off of discarded oil. It just needs to be rewired and made functional! Furthermore, we would love to be able to use the high desert sunshine to power our lights, fans, and fridges in perpetuity.

Objective 2: To develop a resource library and release community publications that include herbal references and literature by and for women and queers. In this way, we draw from our mentors while informing and supporting our ecologies. We are currently working on our sixth zine edition and we’ve just raised enough money from previous publications to compensate artists and contributors for future submissions!

Objective 3: The violent decrease in biodiversity over the course of recent history has created a need to foster native, medicinal, and edible plants now more than ever. Within the next three years, we aim to build a temperature-controlled seed library in the bus for continuous cultivation. Eventually, we hope to tour cross-country using seed swaps, moon time rituals, and accessible workshops to heal what has been disturbed."

We want to see positive change and educational alternatives. We want to see equal opportunities for women and queerfolk in their communities. We want people to be empowered to create the lives they deserve and cultivate a liveable future on Earth.

Your contributions will expand into educational opportunities and empowerment for wom♡n everywhere! Your support will permeate the minds, hearts, and bodies of so many and is deeply appreciated.
