The Miller Family Kidney Fund

Donation protected

Brian has had IgA Nephropathy (a type of kidney disease) for over 20 years.  In 2006 Brian had his original transplant when his father donated one of his kidneys.   Fast forward 13 years and Brian is married to the love of his life and father to two of the most adorable little boys, Will (5) and Joshua (2).

Unfortunately, transplants don’t last forever and Brian is back on the transplant list.  Based on the availability and timeline of a donor kidney, Brian will likely be placed on dialysis.  This treatment will buy Brian time until a match is found.  Brian and his family are currently anticipating he will go through four surgeries throughout this process, with one being the transplant itself.

The first time I was blessed with meeting anyone from the Miller family was at the preschool where I work.   There was the most PRECIOUS little boy walking down the hall.  He had quite the pep in his step as he said hello to EVERYONE in the hall.  I could not get over his amazingly lively hair and his trademark rain boots, even on sunny days.  That boy spread light and joy wherever he went.  Now, knowing his family, it is easy to see where he gets it from.  I went on to meet his mom ,Amber, as she was constantly helping the school, supporting the staff, and even started a MOPS group for the church.  Recently I learned that Amber would be teaching at the preschool and I was lucky enough to be teamed up with this beautiful (both inside and out) lady. I believe God played a part in this for many reasons, but one is that so I can try to put in motion a way for the Miller family to find some peace and comfort in this journey.  The medical expenses are going to be a source of additional stress for an already stressful and scary situation.  If you are able and feel led to donate to this family’s medical expenses, please do!  Every bit helps and is appreciated.

Another way in which you can help this family is to see if you are a match and can donate your kidney.  This is nothing to take lightly, but if you decide to give this a shot, it will not go unappreciated.
