On October 7th, Kevin McConville passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at the age of 37.
Kevin was diagnosed with an extremely rare and aggressive cancer in 2021. Kevin underwent gruelling chemotherapy regimens, radiation, and major abdominal surgery. After a short break in treatment, the cancer was found to have spread. Kevin faced more treatments, with great bravery and resilience, but the cancer continued to progress.
Over the summer Kevin was able to spend the summer camping, travelling with friends and family, and at his family’s cabin in Point Roberts, which held a special place in his heart. In the beginning of October Kevin was admitted to the palliative care unit at St. Paul’s hospital, where he remained until he passed.
The magnitude of his loss is beyond words as we grieve the vibrant life he left behind. He was an engineer, friend, uncle , brother, son, husband, and father. He loved travel, surfing, longboarding, snowboarding, sharing drinks with good friends, and perpetually beating them at whatever game they were playing. Above all, he loved his family. He leaves behind his beloved wife Jaime , his five-year-old son Thomson and his three-year-old daughter Jessa.
This GoFundMe was created to help ease the burden for Jaime and the children, as they take the time they need to hold each other close, and navigate this profound loss.
