On late Saturday night, my dear friend Justin was in a terrible motorcycle accident near Fossil Oregon.
A car crossed over the lane and collided with a group of motorcyles traveling together.

His life was spared, but he lost his left leg.   He was the first rider to be hit, and was thrown into a ditch where he could not be seen.  He laid there yelling for help and fortuntely one of the other riders heard him and was able to put a tourniquet on, along with a state trooper who did the same.  Two of the other riders in the group were not as fortunate and lost their lives.  Many others were injured.

Justin was life flighted to a trauma center, and is undergoing a second surgery today, to hopefully improve the chances of things healing correctly.  Due to the severe trauma he has experienced he is also at a high risk for blood clots, pneumonia and infection.

Justin and Dany were just getting back on their feet after an accident about a year ago, and 6 weeks ago welcomed a new baby girl  (Tyler) to their family, as well as having sweet Hunter, who is 20 months old.

The girls are staying with Gramma Carroll (best Gramma ever), but understandably it is very difficult to be separated from such a young baby.

To say that this has devastated them financially and emotionally would be an understatement.  At this point, recovery time for Justin is unknown but is likely going to be at least 6-9 months.  The lifestyle changes they will need to make in their home,  jobs, and in every aspect of their lives to accomodate this permanent injury will be significant.

Most of you know that Dany is self employed  (http://www.missdany.com) and has been off work recovering from childbirth which has not been easy.  She had just returned to work this past week but is now facing the very real possibility of having to take a different direction with her business due to the financial strain that is now upon them.

If you know this family you know that they give so much to their community, family and friends. The door is literally always open, they always have an ear for listening, a bed to sleep in and a table to eat at regardless of your circumstances.  They both actively mentor youth and adults a like, and would never turn away a person in need.

If there is anything you can do to help this amazing family, they would be forever grateful.  No amount is too small.  If you would like to help in other ways, such as meals or groceries please let them know.

Thanks in advance for any support you can give.
