The invasion of Ukraine has caused the greatest humanitarian crisis in Europe since the Second World War. It’s hard to grasp the enormity of the suffering the people of Ukraine are enduring - and to know how best to help.
Louisville Road is a suburban street in Tooting, South London. The residents have come together to form the Louisville Road Friends of Ukraine. Our aim is to pool our skills and resources to help the people of Ukraine in any way we can.
As we have seen, the Russian army is systematically shelling civilian areas causing thousands of deaths and injuries. People rescued from the rubble need urgent medical care so our first priority is to raise money for high quality first aid kits.
DS MEDICAL, a supplier of kits, has received feedback from Ukraine about the equipment the emergency services are asking for and has created bespoke kits which we will purchase with money raised on this page. The kits will then be delivered to Ukraine via the regular truck shuttle run by the White Eagle Club in Balham. We hope to receive updates on when and where the kits are used. We have no admin cost so every penny will be spent on equipment.
If our kits can save one life then our efforts will not have been in vain. So please dig deep and help us send the people of Ukraine the lifesaving equipment they so desperately need.
The group is primarily for Louisville Road residents but donations are welcome from all.
