The Last Spark

Tax deductible

Calling Far North Queensland and Beyond for Assistance! #thelastspark

Southern Australia is on fire! And the aftermath is devastating as the fires grow - you all know this! Every last inch of the news is heart wrenching photos and footage. We are sure you are like us who have had nightmares about what living through the fires must be like and as you see photos of families submerging in water and waiting.... you have likely cried like us.

We know that for many of us that can't fight fires and assist - we feel helpless as a truckload of status' across social media rolled in saying that we can't celebrate a New Year or Decade while so many of our fellow Aussie's are suffering and many asked "How can I help" - well right now money is needed and we are here to help drive the much needed funds from our home to theirs.

If every business in FNQ donated $100 - can you imagine the impact this could have on the fire affected areas! So please help us reach every business in FNQ.

So what do you need to do? Well it is really simple we want your business to donate $100 and to put your business name on it as we are going to talk about this across Social Media in the days to come as we head for our 20K Target.  We want you to share you donated - not to boast but to share awareness and we want you to nominate another business to donate once you do and tag it #thelastspark

By tagging #thelastspark you will help us get this campaign infront of as many people as possible for the greatest impact and let the people of Southern Australia know we are here and thinking of them.

Not a business? That is ok - you can join as an individual too! Just follow the above and donate whatever you can afford - and help us get the word out by connecting your FNQ Mates with the campaign to do the same.

Remember your donation is Tax Deductible.

Every last cent raised will be going directly to the AUSTRALIAN RED CROSS SOCIETY to manage.

More information about AUSTRALIAN RED CROSS SOCIETY: The Australian Red Cross is made up of two divisions, the Blood Service and Humanitarian Services. The Blood Service plays an important role in the healthcare system by ensuring that patients in Australian hospitals receive life-saving blood products, delivering world-class research and provide expertise in diagnostic, transplantation and other clinical services. The Blood Service spent 76m in 2016, collecting and supplying 1.3m blood donations, with supplies remaining in inventory sufficiency bands for 339 days of the year. In 2015, Humanitarian Services spent 97.5m in delivery of humanitarian programs, emergency and disaster response. Most of our disaster and emergency work was carried out supporting the recovery from cyclone Winston in Fiji and the devastating earthquake in Nepal, the humanitarian crisis in Syria and the cyclone Pam in Vanuatu. We spent 80.8m on our everyday work to address disadvantage across Australia and overseas. Our program spend decreased from last year as a result driven by the down-sizing of our migrant support services. Our program activities within humanitarian services are defined according to our priority areas - Disaster and Emergency services, Locational disadvantage, Social Inclusion, International Aid and Development, International Humanitarian Law, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander programs and Migrant Support Services. Despite reduced government funds our spending on locational disadvantage and social inclusion increased this year.
