The Jonathan Mayzak Memorial Scholarship Fund

Tax deductible

In honor of my beautiful son. Jonathan Michael Mayzak’s birthday, I would like to invite you to help raise money for  memorial scholarships in his honor. Jonathan was a graduate of OnTrack school and a professional motocross rider. He was passionate about motocross, and educating and training the next generation of riders. We would like to keep his memory alive by sponsoring 4 scholarships in his honor to be given out each year at Loretta Lynn’s. To hear more about the life of our precious boy,  please continue reading below. Our entire family and racing community would like to thank you for helping us remember him.

Jonathan Michael Mayzak was born on April 24, 1999 (Hence his original number of 424). He began riding a dirt bike at the age of 4 and competed in the Loretta Lynn National Championship in the 50cc 4-6 class a year later. His love for Motocross began when we bought the VHS tape Throttle Junkies; which he watched until it would no longer play. He was obsessed  with Mike Metzger and so began our  journey into the Motocross world. His first bike was a JR50 which we still have to this day, Motocross became all consuming for our family at that point. Every weekend  and most weekdays were spent training, enjoying our new found family at tracks. and traveling the country to go to races. In 2015 he competed again at Loretta’s in the ProSport class and a year later obtaining a Professional License at the age of 16. He earned the National Number of   210, which, ironically was the number  assigned when he rode the Nationals at  Ponca City.
His professional career began with multiple ProAm races and the National Arenacross Circuit. He then raced the Canadian Nationals for two full seasons in the 450 class with amazing results. In 2019 he made the decision to run his rookie season in the 250 class. The inaugural Florida National was the first time he put himself in “The Big Show” straight out of  qualifying. He followed it up with another straight transfer at Southwick.
Jonathan worked many odd jobs in between races, but his true passion, even more than racing, was training the future generation of Motocross racers. His patience and gift with children was unbelievable. Everyone that ever met  Jonathan was instantly drawn to him. His infectious smile, his laugh and his sense of humor and love for this sport were what made him so very special. Jonathan was  one of 8 siblings, and was truly the glue that held us all together.
Jonathan was due to race the Unadilla        National on August 10th. His baby brother Matthew, drove up to meet him while he   was on leave from the Marine Corps. This    is when tragedy struck. Jonathan was hit by an impaired driver on August 9th crossing the street to the track.  He survived for 40 hours against all odds.  and continued to fight until the end. He  took his last breath on August 11, 2019,  surrounded by family, friends, and fellow racers. As in life, Jonathan was also selfless in death, donating his organs to save  others, with over 52 lives saved. Some say, that the brightest lights burn out the fastest.  Jonathan was truly our light, our heart, and our world.

#210 to the world, #424 forever in our hearts.
