Fundraiser in memory of James Bleasdale

As you all may know last year I lost my partner James to suicide on 5th august to mark his one year anniversary I will be hosting a family funday/charity event in his memory to help raise awareness and raise funds for two charity which are very close to our hearts which are a men’s mental health charity called James Place & a gambling charity called Gambling with lives. Many of you may already know James battled with his own mind every day and struggled a lot with his gambling & drug addiction from a young age and just did not receive the help he needed in order to fight the battle he faced each day. 

 The day will be a family fun day and will involve raffles with some amazing prizes not to be missed, bouncy castles for the children, kids entertainment, face painting, a buffet and much more. 

I have spoken with both charities who are so happy I have chosen to help them and couldn’t thank me enough. 

Information, help & advice will be available on the day from volunteers who work with both charities, I will be using my platform on this day to speak up about men’s mental health, to let everyone know there is help and the right support/treatment out there !! 

Let’s break this stigma and do it together

 To make this day a success and raise as much funds as possible for mens mental health & gambling addiction which is not really spoken about we will need some help! So ANY help or DONATIONS would be greatly appreciated. Below are the things we need

The biggest stigma at the moment with mental health is, that a lot of men aren’t talking about it because this world WRONGLY taught our males to mask/hide their emotions!

But the truth is emotions have NO gender so please don’t lock yours away!

ALOT of men aren’t talking about their worries, their weakness’ or their fears because they fear of what the world around them would think of them as they are made to be ‘strong’ they are made to be the ‘man of the house’ they are told to ‘man up’ unfortunately these are the “norms” for the men of today.

We need to CHANGE this and make a DIFFERENCE because if I can help at least one more life I know my James would be so proud & happy to have saved someone else who was battled with their mind every single day.

We need to normalise speaking up, showing emotions, going to therapy, asking for help and most importantly NOT BEING OK.

It’s not just about opening up and speaking out either !! It’s also about the help and support that’s NOT given!

The thing is James DID speak up he DID open up and he DID ask for help countless amount of times just to be turned away and FAILED by our mental health system!!!
